Cannabidiol for sports
CBD or Cannabidiol, is a cannabinoid naturally present in the cannabis plant. Cannabinoids are molecules found in the cannabis plant. The most notable cannabinoid is THC, the primary psychoactive compound of cannabis. Next comes the Cannabidiol or CBD mainly noticeable for it's relaxing effect and the lack of psychoactive effect.
In sports, the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) has classified the CBD as an authorized product, but THC and other cannabinoids are prohibited in competition. In our CBD relaxing cream, we incorporated CBD in the recipe but there is no trace of THC or other cannabinoids.
CBD has some interesting effects for muscle recovery :
- - Antioxidant : Antioxidants are molecules both produced by the body and provided through our diet. Antioxidants protect cells by stopping the harmful action on the oxygen (generated by stress).
- - Anti sebum : CBD produces a thin layer of oil protecting the skin and preventing the apparition of irritation.
- - Maintaining agent for the skin
- - Protective agent for the skin
Other studies are currently being carried out on CBD to prove its anti-inflammatory effect (Brain institute in Paris, 2019) or it's calming/anti-stress effect (Science post, Dr Degregorio, McGill University, Canada, 2019).

- - Eucalyptus oil : Used for its scent, and antiseptic effect. Eucalyptus also is a natural maintaining agent for the skin, like CBD.
- - Camphor extract : Used for its anesthetic effect, diminishing pain in the muscle and for it's blood stimulating effect to improve recovery.
- - Aloe Vera extract : Used for its hydrating effect on the skin, moisturizing effect on the product, preventing the cream to dry on the skin. Aloe vera also has a regenerative effect on the skin and a soothing effect on muscle and articulation pain.
- - Peppermint oil : Used for its refreshing effect when applied on the skin and it's invigorating effect.
- - Menthol : Used for its refreshing effect on the skin, it's soothing effect on pain and it's anti-inflammatory effect.
